Does the league table decide playoff seeds?
No. Playoff spots and seeds come from the division standings; the league table is a comparison only.
Why are West teams often higher in the league table?
The West has five teams and plays more games against each other, so points can bunch; the crossover rule exists to reward a strong fourth-place western team.
What is point differential?
Points for minus points against. It is a key tiebreaker and a good indicator of team strength beyond the record.
How many points can a team earn in a season?
A maximum of 36 points from 18 games.
