2026 Hamilton Tiger-Cats Schedule: Dates, Times, TV Channels
The 2026 Hamilton Tiger-Cats schedule ran 18 games over 21 weeks, with byes in Weeks 4, 15 and 20. Hamilton opened at home against Montreal on June 4 and closed the regular season with a 35-22 home win over the Ottawa Redblacks on October 24, finishing 6-12.
Two things set this schedule apart. Hamilton got ten home games instead of nine, because one of Toronto’s home dates moved to Hamilton during the FIFA World Cup. And American viewers saw more of the Tiger-Cats than of any other club: CBS Sports Network carried 11 of their games, the most in the league.
Scott Milanovich is in his third season as head coach. Hamilton was at 3-3 after a one point win over Toronto on July 18, but the season slipped away from there, and a triple overtime loss in Edmonton on September 26 ended its playoff hopes.

Why the Tiger-Cats Schedule Had Ten Home Games
Every CFL team normally plays nine games at home and nine away. In 2026 Toronto’s BMO Field hosted FIFA World Cup matches, so the Argonauts gave up three home dates. One of them went to Hamilton: Toronto at Hamilton Stadium on Saturday, July 18.
That game counted as a Tiger-Cats home game, which gave Hamilton ten home dates and eight on the road. It turned out to be one of the best nights of the season, a 24-23 win over the Argonauts.
Hamilton played Toronto three times in all: that July game, the Labour Day Classic at home on September 7, and a trip to BMO Field on August 22. The Argonauts won the last two.
What Channel Is the Tiger-Cats Game On?
TSN carries every Tiger-Cats game in Canada. Two were also simulcast on CTV, both against Calgary: at home on August 1 and in Calgary on August 29. RDS and RDS2 carry many of the games in French.
In the United States, CBS Sports Network carried 11 Tiger-Cats games in 2026, more than any other CFL team. That includes the season opener against Montreal, the Labour Day Classic against Toronto and the July 18 game against the Argonauts. Everything not on CBSSN streams free on CFL+ outside Canada.
Week by week listings are on the TSN CFL schedule and CBS Sports Network CFL schedule pages.
East Division Standings
| # | Team | GP | W | L | T | PTS | Diff | Strk |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 18 | 14 | 4 | 0 | 28 | +148 | W1 | |
| 2 | 18 | 9 | 9 | 0 | 18 | -11 | L3 | |
| 3 | 18 | 6 | 12 | 0 | 12 | -80 | W1 | |
| 4 | 18 | 1 | 17 | 0 | 2 | -236 | L1 |
Hamilton was eliminated from playoff contention on September 26. With Hamilton and Ottawa both out, the East’s third playoff place crosses over to the fourth place team in the West, which turned out to be Winnipeg, who play at Toronto in the East Semi-Final on October 31.
The Close Games on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Schedule
Five Hamilton games were decided by three points or fewer, and the Tiger-Cats won only one of them. Two of the losses went to overtime.
| DATE | GAME | RESULT |
|---|---|---|
| Thu, June 4 | vs. Montreal Alouettes | L 27-30 (OT) |
| Sun, July 5 | vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers | L 13-14 |

| Sat, Aug 8 | at BC Lions | L 24-27 |
| Sat, Sept 26 | at Edmonton Elks | L 35-37 (3OT) |
Flip two or three of those and Hamilton’s season looks very different. The September 26 game in Edmonton, a 37-35 loss after three overtimes, is the one that settled it.

Inside the Tiger-Cats 2026 Season
The start was promising. After an overtime loss to Montreal in the opener, Hamilton won 37-27 in Winnipeg on June 11 and beat BC 41-27 at home a week later.
The one point win over Toronto on July 18 squared the record at 3-3. Then came four straight losses, including a 44-20 home defeat to Calgary on August 1, and a five game losing run from August 22 to September 26 that ran through the Labour Day Classic.
Hamilton did win 34-16 in Ottawa on October 2, a week after it was eliminated. The regular season ended with a 35-22 home win over the Redblacks in the rematch on October 24.
Where Do the Tiger-Cats Play? Hamilton Stadium
The Tiger-Cats play at Hamilton Stadium, the venue long known as Tim Hortons Field. The name changed after Tim Hortons chose not to renew its naming rights, which was announced on December 18, 2024. The stadium seats 23,218.
Older schedules and some ticket sites still use the Tim Hortons Field name, but it is the same building on the same site.
How Many Grey Cups Have the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Won?
The Tiger-Cats have won the Grey Cup eight times since the club was formed in 1950:
- 1953
- 1957
- 1963
- 1965
- 1967
- 1972
- 1986
- 1999
The club itself counts 15 championships, because it includes titles won by the earlier Hamilton Tigers and Hamilton Flying Wildcats. The last title came in 1999, which makes Hamilton the only CFL club without a Grey Cup this century and gives it the longest active drought in the league.
