2026 Ottawa Redblacks Schedule: Dates, Times, TV Channels

The 2026 Ottawa Redblacks schedule ran 18 games across 21 weeks, nine at TD Place Stadium and nine on the road, with byes in Weeks 2, 8 and 14. It opened at home against the Edmonton Elks on June 6 and finishes at Hamilton on Saturday, October 24.

Ryan Dinwiddie is in his first season as head coach after replacing Bob Dyce, and by late August he was carrying the general manager’s job as well. The club was out of playoff contention by Week 15, and its 0-15 start was reported by TSN on October 8 as the worst in CFL history, past the 1994 Shreveport Pirates’ 0-14.

The July 19 game against Winnipeg at TD Place went to four overtimes, the longest game anywhere in the CFL in 2026. Ottawa scored 34 and lost it 36-34. Twelve days later came a 34-13 home defeat to Montreal, which is the shape the whole season took.

The 38 points in Calgary on September 19 were Ottawa’s highest total of the year, and still not enough.

What Channel Is the Ottawa Redblacks Game On?

TSN carries all 18 Redblacks games in Canada. Ottawa being a bilingual market, 16 of the 18 also had a French broadcast on RDS or RDS2. One game, Calgary at TD Place on September 26, was simulcast on CTV.

In the United States, CBS Sports Network picked up seven Redblacks games in 2026. Outside Canada everything else streams free on CFL+.

East Division Standings

Ottawa was eliminated from playoff contention in Week 15. Montreal won the East and the bye to the East Final, Toronto finished second and hosts the East Semi-Final at BMO Field on Saturday, October 31, and the East’s third playoff place crossed over to the West because neither Ottawa nor Hamilton stayed alive.

Who Runs the Ottawa Redblacks in 2026?

Ryan Dinwiddie took over as head coach for 2026, replacing Bob Dyce. He arrived from Toronto, where he had been head coach of the Argonauts.

The front office changed around him during the season. Club president Sciarra was removed from the role on August 17 and the position has stayed vacant since. General manager Shawn Burke was relieved of his duties on August 23, which left Dinwiddie holding both football jobs for the closing two months of the schedule.

The Redblacks also went 2-0 in the preseason, beating Montreal 27-12 on the road and 27-3 at TD Place. Preseason results do not carry into the standings, but they were the only two wins the club put on a scoreboard before the regular season began.

Inside the Redblacks 2026 Season

Ottawa’s schedule gave it no soft landing. The two winnable games in the opening five both went to the wire: a two point loss in Montreal on June 28 and a five point loss to Saskatchewan at home on July 3.

August was the hardest stretch. Ottawa played three of four on the road, in Regina, Winnipeg and Montreal, and conceded 42, 33 and 46 points. The home game in that run, against BC on August 30, finished 45-24.

September was better football. Ottawa scored 23, 38 and 31 in three straight weeks and lost two of them by a combined five points. The Calgary home game on September 26 was the one CTV broadcast of the Redblacks season.

October brought the two closing games: Toronto at TD Place on October 16 and the trip to Hamilton on October 24, which ends the regular season for both clubs.

How Many Grey Cups Have the Redblacks Won?

One. The Ottawa Redblacks won the 104th Grey Cup in 2016, beating the Calgary Stampeders 39-33 in overtime in Toronto, in only their third season in the league.

The Redblacks joined the CFL in 2014 and 2026 is their twelfth season on the field, the 2020 season having been cancelled. They reached the Grey Cup three times in their first five years, in 2015, 2016 and 2018. Titles won by Ottawa’s earlier CFL clubs belong to those franchises and are not counted here.
