2026 Calgary Stampeders Schedule: Dates, Times, TV Channels
The Calgary Stampeders schedule ends early. Calgary closes its 2026 regular season at home against the BC Lions on Saturday, October 17, then sits out Week 21 on a bye while the rest of the West finishes.
That is an uncomfortable way to spend the last week of a season, because the Stampeders do not control their own playoff fate. They are level on points with Winnipeg and Saskatchewan, but both of those teams have a game in hand.
Calgary also hosts the 113th Grey Cup at McMahon Stadium on November 15, which is a separate matter entirely. The host club gets no shortcut into the playoffs. Dave Dickenson is in his tenth season as head coach and his fourth as general manager.

Calgary Stampeders 2026 Playoff Picture
Four teams from the West reach the playoffs this year. Hamilton and Ottawa are both out of contention in the East, so the East’s third place goes to the fourth place finisher in the West under the crossover rule.
Edmonton ElksClinched first place and the Division Final bye.
BC LionsClinched a playoff spot.
Saskatchewan RoughridersClinched a playoff spot.
Winnipeg Blue BombersClinched a playoff spot.
Calgary StampedersEliminated from playoff contention.
Calgary’s problem is arithmetic rather than form. Calgary beat BC 32-13 in its finale to reach 9-9 and 18 points, level with Winnipeg, but the Blue Bombers won the season series 2-1 and took fourth place in the West and the crossover spot. The Stampeders missed the playoffs on that tiebreaker.
Saskatchewan won both of its last two games, against Montreal and Edmonton, and that settled it. The Stampeders will still be at the centre of things on November 15, when McMahon Stadium hosts the 113th Grey Cup.

The 113th Grey Cup at McMahon Stadium
Calgary hosts the 113th Grey Cup on Sunday, November 15, 2026 at McMahon Stadium, with a capacity of 35,400. The game was awarded to the city on November 8, 2024, with the Stampeders, the City of Calgary and the Province of Alberta as hosts. It is the sixth Grey Cup Calgary has staged, the first since 2019, and the earliest calendar date the game has ever been played.
Hosting brings no competitive advantage. There is no automatic berth for the host club in either the playoffs or the Grey Cup itself, so Calgary has to qualify on its record like everyone else. If the Stampeders miss the playoffs, the game still goes ahead at their stadium without them.
The festival runs from November 11 to 15 at Stampede Park, with the outdoor street festival in Lot 3 from the 12th to the 14th, a rodeo at the Nutrien Centre, nightly drone shows and a free tailgate in McMahon Stadium’s east lot from 1pm on game day. Tourism Calgary puts the expected economic impact at around 50 million dollars.
Sarah McLachlan sings the anthem, followed by the Snowbirds’ final flyover before the squadron’s retirement, and Riley Green headlines the halftime show. The game airs on CTV, TSN and Crave in English, RDS in French and CFL+ worldwide.
Calgary Stampeders 2026 Preseason Results
Calgary won both preseason games. The trip to Edmonton was played at Clarke Stadium rather than Commonwealth, because Canada hosted a pre-World Cup friendly there, making it the first professional football game at Clarke since 1978.

Inside the Stampeders 2026 Season
Calgary has been the most entertaining team in the league and one of the least reliable. The Stampeders scored 600 points through 17 games, more than anyone else in the CFL, and conceded 574, which is why a team that put up those numbers still missed the playoffs.
Vernon Adams Jr., in his second season since arriving from BC, is the reason for the first half of that sentence. On July 2 he threw six touchdown passes and ran for a seventh in a 58-36 win over Toronto, going 20 of 25 for 405 yards and tying the franchise record for passing touchdowns in a game, a mark held since the 1990s by Jeff Garcia, Doug Flutie and Peter Liske.
Three weeks later he set a CFL record that had stood since 2013, reaching 18 touchdown passes to open a season without an interception, passing Ricky Ray and Darian Durant. He got to 20 before his first one.
That same night in Winnipeg, Tyreik McAllister became the first player in CFL history to score a rushing, a receiving and a return touchdown in the same half, the last of them on a 118 yard missed field goal return, in a 52-30 win.
The Battle of Alberta went badly both times, including a 53-16 loss in Edmonton on September 12 and the Labour Day Classic at home in front of a season high 25,698. Calgary also played the first CFL regular season game in Kelowna, beating BC 41-33 at the Apple Bowl on June 27, and won a game on a walk-off field goal, 40-38 over Ottawa on September 19.
How Many Grey Cups Have the Stampeders Won?
The Calgary Stampeders have won the Grey Cup eight times, in 1948, 1971, 1992, 1998, 2001, 2008, 2014 and 2018, from 17 appearances in the final.
The most recent came in the 106th Grey Cup on November 25, 2018, a 27-16 win over the Ottawa Redblacks in Edmonton. A ninth title in 2026 would be won at McMahon Stadium, which no host team has ever managed in Calgary.

What is the Calgary Stampeders record in 2026?

Can the Calgary Stampeders still make the 2026 playoffs?
No. Calgary finished 9-9, tied on 18 points with Winnipeg, and lost fourth place in the West on the head-to-head tiebreaker after Winnipeg won the season series 2-1. Saskatchewan won its last two games to finish third with 20 points, which ended Calgary’s season. The final standings are below.
Is Calgary hosting the 2026 Grey Cup?

Who is the Calgary Stampeders head coach in 2026?
Dave Dickenson, in his tenth season as head coach and his fourth as general manager, a title he added in December 2022. Jay McNeil is club president.

At McMahon Stadium in Calgary, which opened in 1960 and is the second oldest stadium in the CFL. It is owned by the University of Calgary.
How many Grey Cups have the Calgary Stampeders won?
Eight, in 1948, 1971, 1992, 1998, 2001, 2008, 2014 and 2018, from 17 appearances in the final. The most recent was the 106th Grey Cup in 2018, a 27-16 win over Ottawa.
Calgary Stampeders 2026 Schedule in Short
The season ended with a 32-13 home win over BC on October 17 and a Week 21 bye. Saskatchewan then won twice in Regina, and Calgary finished fifth in the West on the tiebreaker with Winnipeg.
Either way McMahon Stadium has a big November. The 113th Grey Cup is there on the 15th, with or without the home team.
